From:China, Thailand Method:Wild, trawl
The Indian squid and its close relative, the mitre squid, are two major commercially important squid species–mostly imported from China–sold in the U.S. market.
特徴:Roasted Shredded Squid
Roasted squid slices has so appealing smell that you can not help tasting. It has attractive gold color, moderate hardness and pure flavor.
Medical function: squid possesses rich protein and mineral elements such as calcium, phosphorus and iron. It is good for bone development and hematopoiesis and helps to treat anemia. Squid not only has rich protein and amino acids required by the body, but also contains large amounts of taurine. Moreover, it carries low calorie. It helps to control cholesterol levels in blood, prevent adult diseases, relieve fatigue, restore eyesight and improve liver function. It possesses many useful trace elements such as selenium and peptides which have the function of anti virus andanti radiation. According to Chinese medical theory, Squid has the function of nourishing kidney and stomach.
These squid range throughout the Indo-Pacific and are commercially fished primarily with trawl gear, with impacts both on habitat and species that live there, including the potential for high levels of bycatch of a variety of important and sensitive species, including corals.
The combination of gear type used in this fishery, with poor management and little oversight or enforcement results in an “Avoid” ranking for both of these species from all the importing nations.
